What is Space Survivor?
Space Survivor is a top-down horde survival game made by Mosu Games and released in October 2022. You are one fighter against an endless stream of alien and robot enemies that spawn in waves. The goal is simple: do not let them touch you. Each enemy you kill contributes to your experience bar, and when that bar fills you pick a new skill or upgrade. The longer you hold out, the harder the waves get, and the more powerful your build becomes.
Controls and movement
Movement is the core mechanic. You are always moving, weaving between enemies while your attacks fire automatically based on your selected skills. There is no separate attack button.

Skills and upgrade system
At the start you choose one skill from a small selection. As you kill enemies and fill your XP bar, you are offered upgrade choices each time it tops out. Over a run you can stack multiple skills and improve existing ones, turning a basic loadout into something that can clear large clusters at once. Choosing which skills to prioritise early makes a real difference to how long you survive.

Tips for surviving longer
- Keep moving in wide circles rather than straight lines. Enemies that surround you in a ring are harder to escape than a chasing group.
- Pick skills that cover a wide angle early. A narrow attack leaves gaps that runners can exploit.
- Never stop moving when the bar is about to fill. The upgrade screen pauses the game, so you can take a breath then.
- Prioritise killing the fastest enemies first. Slow tanks are less dangerous than quick flankers.
- On mobile, use the drag control so your thumb does not cover the action area.
Playing on mobile and at school
Space Survivor works on phones, tablets, and Chromebooks straight from the browser. The drag-to-move control makes it playable on a touchscreen without needing a keyboard. Because everything runs in the browser, you can also open it at school or work where browser games are allowed, with no downloads or sign-ups required.
